Keep Calm and Party On!

The rain poured, the wind blew but in true British, stiff upper lip style we kept calm and partied on!  In our little village of Landrake in Cornwall our toddler group ‘Little Giraffes’ hosted a street party for the village. Due to the weather we had to leave the street and re group in the Methodist Chapel but tremendous fun was had by all. There was the little bouncy castle, space hoppers, giant Jenga, inflatable jousting, face painting and a range of crafts for the children. The adults were drawn in by cake and tea in the afternoon, an amazing range of red, white and blue sweet offerings were available and of course as the village sank under the heavy rainfall the Landrake Band played on.
The evening saw the dark clouds lift and the party went outside for egg and spoon races, jousting and a space hopper relay. The heat was lit under the enormous paella dish and the men adopted chef status as they manned the fire as the wonderful, aromatic paella bubbled.
The activities and food were fantastic but the real triumph was a community young and old coming together to enjoy each other’s presence. We had so much fun we are all looking forward to celebrating the Queen’s 70 years on the throne. Long live the Queen!
