Creative Stay at Home Mum?!

I love the rhythm of our festivals and seasons. We are now officially in Spring - hurrah! Unfortunately it seems to have rained solidly since we dared to start dreaming of sunnier, warmer days.
We have also embarked on Holy Week which starts with Palm Sunday and of course ends with the joyous Easter Sunday. I have such good intentions every year: I'm going to send beautiful hand made cards to all my friends and family; Amos and I will bake easter bunny buns and give them to neighbours; we will paint eggs together and hang them on trees...... Ok, you've got it, I'm really too late to do any of this. How did Easter sneak up on us like that? Is that the same for all us stay at home mums and dads - or just me? Anyway today Amos and I attempted card making and came up with one quite abstract effort and a rather bizarrely painted egg:) Don't fear, though, I've just found, on this remarkable interweb, a way of sending ecards for free and you can put on family photos and whatever you want - it's brilliant! You can also do some scrapbooking in no time at all - something I've planned to do since Amos was born. 1. We never seem to get around to doing the creative things I'd like to do! And, I'm still disappointed by my attempts at chocolate rice crispy Easter nests! Anyone got a decent recipe? Mine either fall apart or are too sticky!

  3. My chocolate rice crispy easter nest hot tip is to stir in the rice crispies into the melted chocolate while it's still over the pan of boiling water then straight into the bun cases. Worked a treat when I did that on my own but couldn't do it over boiling water with Amos and consequently by the time he'd stirred and stirred the chocolate was pretty hard so we had chocolate rice crispy easter crumbs!!!
